Why do you want to hunt with a pistol instead of a rifle?

I'm just curious. I know this is something that people do, but I don't see any advantages and I see several disadvantages (range being the main one).

S&W .460 is a pretty sweet gun. Shoots .460, .454 and .45 long colt so it’s very versatile.

I like shooting my S&W 629 with 8-1/2 inch barrel in .44 magnum. Haven't hunted with it though.
