This is exactly my take as well.
This team wasn’t expected to make the playoffs in the highly competitive west. They are young and play with a lot of energy as underdogs as they have no true superstar yet.
I am not a Jazz fan but am starting to root for them as I love seeing underdog stories.
That being said, enjoying this team as playing above where they should takes nothing away from those great Jazz teams of the 90’s.
