the three play-in matches, though it's probably more accurate to say they didn't announce how they seeded them, since they surely did, but apparently don't want anyone else to know since it works out better for them monetarily to have Ohio State host King for the first play-in rather than Harvard. To win it all, Ohio State will have to win four matches, while a 13-13 surprise winner of the EIVA will only have to play and win three. They also selected UCI as the second at-large over Hawaii and Loyola. I don't think even UCI thought they had a chance after losing to Hawaii in the Big West semis. I'm not sure which of these developments is more surprising.
