make it 47 if no one suddenly drops it as Cal-Baptist did last year. Neither division has enough teams to qualify for their own divisional championship, so it's called the NCAA Men's National Collegiate Volleyball Championship. Up until 2012, it also included Div. 3 schools, but they now have their own championship. Every conference has both division 1 and 2 teams, except the Conference Carolinas, which is a solely Division 2 conference.
Big West has 1 - San Diego (though they will be going D1 soon)
EIVA has 1- Charleston
MIVA has 4 - Lewis, Lindenwood, McKendree, and Quincy
MPSF has 1 - Concordia-Irvine
Conference Carolinas has all 9 - Barton, Belmont Abbey, Emmanuel, Erskine, King, Lees-McRae, Limestone, Mt. Olive, North Greenville
7 Independents - Alderson Broaddus, Coker, Lincoln Memorial, Queens, and three Puerto Rico universities
Last year they started holding an unofficial independent tournament, the Independent Volleyball Association Championship Tournament. Lincoln Memorial won this year.
The two new D2 schools are Daemen College (New York) and Urbana University (Ohio)
