Assuming you are going to be there 5+ years and employment is solid: Buy smart, something you can afford. Don't be house poor. Put down the minimum (unless you can afford more) to get out of renting asap (unless you are renting cheap to save up). In many cases, especially in Utah, renting costs as much as buying and it may not even be as nice of a place. That's my take anyway.
