Ugh. I didn't get to the summit until my 3rd attempt. The first two times,
we got hit with unexpected storms in which people died. The kind of freaky thing is that I think I was the last person to talk to two guys who died. I can't be sure, but based on where I talked to them and suggested they turn around and where they found their bodies, it's not likely they saw anyone else after talking to me. Ironically, the first time I got to the summit was on the most difficult route I'd attempted at that point.

Probably the most physically grueling thing I've ever done was the Grand Teton. We were planning on just doing a quick single day climb of it but ended up having to rescue of some stranded climbers. Basically, it was 27 straight hours of extreme physical exertion. When we got back down, I literally just laid down in the parking lot and slept for a few hours.
