...that most people cannot afford the standard of living they project. I've seen it time and again. People buy a nice big house and then put bed sheets in the windows and leave the yard to crap because they didn't consider those things when factoring in whether they could afford it.
When I was in grad school at BYU, I took a class from Larry H. Miller. He said the number #1 reason people wanted to turn in their leased Lexus's was because they couldn't afford the maintenance on the car. They hadn't factored it in when they considered the cost of owning one.
