Aren’t all musicals underdeveloped?
Seems like that’s kind of the point. The songs make up the most pivotal points of the movie rather than long drawn out dramatic scenes that you would see in a normal movie.

That’s why you see people falling in love, wife forgiving him, husband realizing what he had all along happen pretty quickly.

I don’t judge any musical on being too quick or choppy for that reason. Although they all feel that way if you are expecting a long, continuous storyline.

I thought Greatest Showman was pretty perfect for what it was and what it was trying to be. Can’t remember the last time I walked out of a PG movie that I legitimately enjoyed.
