Not if you can get a better free agent. e.g.: Lebron or Kawai
Boston is still a destination like the Lakers. Plus they have a ton of young talent and future draft picks. People will want to sign with them.

Better yet, he gets traded to Cleveland and the Cavs sign Deron Williams out of free agency to fill out their roster.
