Well, I'm typically one who averages higher win predictions than the majority
of CB. However, last year happened. And I am not aware of an obvious infusion of talent that is going to guarantee an upgrade from last season's debacle.
I have faith that Grimes will do well, but I don't think he has the tools to run an elite offense like we will need to win our tough games this year. And it's a first year offense, which might be rough in and of itself.
The D hasn't gotten better either. Losing Warner hurts big time. We are going to be better at safety, but the DL is everything and we are maybe slightly better than last year.
So unless my thoughts are wrong this probably isn't a team that is going to beat marginal P5 teams like AZ and Cal. Wisconsin is elite and so is Washington. So that leaves USU as another (sigh) barometer game after starting 1-4.
And what does "far exceed expectations" mean? Please quantify.
