I generally agree. When I put what mexican food should taste like I meant
Using my own opinion/definition of what Mexican food should be, not what truly is authentic mexican food.
People always say tex mex isnt real mexican, or California mexican isnt real mexican, or anything outside of Texas or California isnt real, etc. That is ridiculous. A lot of good mexican to be had outside of those two states.
I like 90% of all mexican food from taco bell to chipotle to local ma and pa shops. I like the taste of chipotle's mexican food more than cafe rios. Chipotle just fits the bill better for me when it comes to ideal mexican. The sugar pork just doesn't fit my definition of mexican so I dont get it when I go to cafe rio, i want spicy/savory when i have mexican not sweet.

I like Cafe Rio, not great food, but good food. Used to be better, it has gone down hill. But...it is NOT Mexican food.
