1) comfort. Does it ergonomically fit me.
2) performance. Does it do what I want it to do, and does it do it well.

3) serviceability/reliability. Reliable, high performance, and serviceability don't necessarily go hand in hand, but if a car has the right balance of all 3 categories, I consider it "nice".

In the end, this means the cars/trucks/SUVs aren't typically the "trendy pick" (sometimes they are), but often they are against the grain, but suit my purposes well.
