To me, part of it is whether it is "interesting."
A Camry is an excellent automotive appliance. And it is the least interesting car in production.
A Dodge Challenger R/T is probably a pretty poor car by many measures. But it is interesting, in part because of its flaws. I'd be more likely to point out a light blue Challenger R/T that's depreciated to $20k than a top of the line Camry worth $35k.
