Having lived there it is a weird sense of pride.
Yes, Texas won it’s own independence. Yes I remember the Alamo. But does everyone have to constantly remind me about that?
Colorado has its Native bumper stickers that are also a little annoying. But you don’t see them as much outside of Colorado as you the don’t mess with Texas stickers.

Those are also stupid but considering I’ve seen them significantly less than Texas stickers I take more issue with Texas
