Mom and Dad are from Idaho. I grew up my whole life (on the east coast) making fun of Idaho
Mainly to balance out Dads outspoken pride in his home state.
Yet now as an adult, if I had to pick people I'd rather be around, and the only thing I knew about them was where they were from, I'd pick people from Idaho first. Sure it's anecdotal, but without exception, people from Idaho that I have met are genuine, real, self depreciating, and the kind of people I could take fishing.
