We go from 20-30 players changing directions = 70 - 80 recruitment net is beyond me. I think 140 -150 players is unmanageable. I know NCAA by laws say you can only have110 players to start practice before classes start. Rick Shumway is the posterboy of this small beach population. He is the kind of athlete I have the ut most respect for. Walk on for 3+ years, gets a few stats and says I have to start thinking about the rest of my life instead of dancing to “Rise and Shout”. There are others like him. There are others similar that have other issues that cloud their view or family issues that take them like Kaho at UW. I think losing 20 - 30 is a normal # especially when 20 of 30 are walk ons with no prospect of playing. How you twist these #’s to ride the”cool” wave of knowing more than coaching staff or stamp “rejected” on the packing box metaphorically known as coaching staff is beyond me. No one has the foolishness to attack Grimes and Pugh yet but do so indirectally with all this negativity. Take some dance lessons and dance the”Rise and Shout” polka until Thanksgiving.
