I think fans are expecting and can deal with a road loss to AZ, especially with a QB like Tate running the show. Just as long as it isn't like the LSU and Wisky game where BYU was inept in every possible way.
But if Kalani can pull out a victory at home over Cal (which is very reasonable), then they go off to Wisc and get drilled but then can come home and beat McNeese St.
That puts the Cougs at 2-2 and a remaining schedule that has them most likely trading Ws and Ls.
Washington - L (2-3)
USU - W (3-3)
Hawaii - W (4-3)
N. Illinois W (5-3)
BSU - L (5-4)
UMass - L (5-5)
NMSU - W (6-5)
Utah - L (6-6)
If they beat Cal, BYU flirts with a winning record or at least .500 record throughout the season, keeping fans/players/media spirits optimistic.
