How about a CB is working on hip fluidity drills and his cleats stick in the ground as he is rotating his hips/legs and there goes the ACL. That's how most ACL injuries happen. Most basketball players don't injure their ACLs on contact plays. The foot stays planted but the knee tries to turn.
Achilles and plantar fascia injuries are the same. They wear down over time or some small tear worsens and then all of the sudden you put your foot down to explode off of it and the only thing that explodes is your Achilles tendon.
By your logic a runner or a swimmer or a cyclist or a dancer or a (fill in the blank) should never have an injury because they play non-contact sports. You see how silly that sounds?
