I don't feign to know his plights or what demons he fights, nor would I try to excuse his actions. He has issues mentally and emotionally that I can't fathom. He believes that god put him on earth to do 1 thing.. play football and dominate on the gridiron. That's gone now.
1on1 he's my boy Richie....In groups he becomes a completely different person.
His Dad passed away. That's why he was at the funeral home.
He was raised by an alcoholic and was picked on as a kid. His Dad was in and out of rehab for a while, but no crutches should be handed to him. He needs to hit rock bottom ASAP.
I was trying my best while he was in town to surround him with some positive influences. We had him over to our family's house. We had no idea of the severity of his issues.
I hadn't seen him in 7 years. But had been in communication with him for the time. He's had teammates like Rey Feinga, Les Brown (Braden Browns Brother) who he became friends with b/c of their affiliation with the LDS church. Richie had 3 close LDS friends growing up.
I pray he can get the right help, because it's completely beyond any resources or care I could help him out with and i realized that after spending 3 days with him.
Let's hope he hits rock bottom and he can survive this tumultuous life he's created for himself.
