To get us consistently back to the Gold Standard (Top 25 regularly), we need the best LDS talent out there (every year) plus a couple of extra steals of non LDS talent. In addition, innovative, disciplined coaching, which is questionable.
Ty took his lumps, but if he EVER got his offense installed, where a QB could make a read, and the WRs were experienced to make the same read, it couldn't be stopped. BYU needs this kind of innovation, something different than other systems in place.
If BYU tries to beat the college football world at their own game, using the established systems, then yes, our hopes should be reset to Top 40...which is a shame, and discouraging considering where we have come from, and our potential.
