Sure - Tanner has been below average. I'll give you that. I have NO PROBLEM giving you that. Most people here would agree. I don't know of anyone who is saying Tanner has been great.

Now - keep in mind - the coaches know who Tanner is and what he is capable of. They also know who is sitting on the bench behind Tanner and what those other QB's are capable of.

And they picked Tanner - because, ostensibly, they believe he is the QB that gave them the best chance to win the game. All three games up until now, to be honest.

It may be that at some point in this season one of the other QB's on the bench reaches a point of development that he is in a position to be a better option. But for now - the coaches believe Tanner is the best option.

So - you seem to be saying "Hey, Tanner was a bad QB. And I don't like it. So let's put someone else in who, in the coaches' view, gives us a worse chance at winning!"

Seems like it wouldn't be super smart or help win games if BYU were to do that.

I get that some people started the season feeling like it was a lost cause and the coaches should play younger players to give them experience for next year. But with the way the season has gone so far - I don't have a problem with the decision to try to win now. And if that means playing Mangum, then great. Play Mangum. Just win baby!
