It’s all about data points
2 or three games into a season makes it a very suspect analysis. His end of the year stats are usually very accurate because his data points he draws from are much more current.
If he didn’t use previous year data, his rankings would be very inaccurate in the early part of each year. As it is now, it’s only SOMEWHAT inaccurate. 😉
