Right, this is exactly what is happening.
I assume either the alternator isn't working, or I have a bad cable coming off the alternator. Just looking for verification that this would be everyone else's starting point or if there's something I haven't thought of.

That certainly does sound like a bad alternator.

I'd take it out and to O'Reilly's and have it tested.

Certainly double check your cables, but assuming everthing is good there, I agree it is your alternator.

Like everyone else has said, probably the alternator. That's exactly what happened when my alternator went out.

likely the alternator. Make sure your battery cables /connections are sound too
