Yup. Or even the intake temp sensor (both should be fairly cheap). With cold, dense air, if the IAT was reading
summer temps there wouldn't be enough fuel for the air-to-fuel ratio and as soon as you shifted into drive, the load on the transmission would stall the engine.
Both sensors should be fairly easy to check with an OBDII reader (you'd have to read the values and compare to ambient conditions, there most likely won't be a code).
Those two sensors are definitely on the top of the list for any Internet Master Mechanic...
