I think that, depending on the family financial situation, they should accept any offer from the best academic school
Kids like this aren’t going pro, so they need to take their academics seriously. For example, wissler wants to go to Stanford, if they offer a PWO and his only offer we’re USU, he should go to Stanford if his parents can afford it.
I had the chance to walk on a soccer team at a small and instead decided to attend USU and not play sports. I knew I had no chance to play anywhere so I stopped playing and went to school. I have buddies that did the opposite and attended those small schools and now have worthless degrees and are going to local bigger schools now after wasting 2-4 years.

I think if a kid has no chance at making money from football, they should either accept a PWO from the best university possible, or if no options are good, quit and focus on what will make them money. I think wasting years playing “for the love of the game” is stupid
