My loyalty waned and now is growing oddly enough. They're not the same team, but
I really believe they'll come back up. It'll require great leadership and fortitude. BYU has had cultural issues from the top all the way down to the fans. I see that culture changing in a positive direction (and I'm not talking about a snowflake generation being positive). When you care intensely about something, failing builds you and drives you. We don't have all the pieces yet, but in time we will, because those that represent BYU from the top down care intensely.

I've changed my opinion on Kalani. I think he's a man that can do it. My expectations have definitely changed, but I also believe we're 2-3 years (max 5 years) from seeing a special season. Because of missions and the HC, athletic programs will change slowly. However, Kalani is embracing the grind. He's finding joy in the sweat and toil, and it's rubbing off on the players. No one likes discomfort initially, even when you know it's for your own good, but I see a change in the cultural attitude. Kalani's message is: "BYU is going to be the hardest thing you've ever done in your life, and if you you're interested in dedicating yourself to your craft and overall self-betterment, you'll be completely satisfied with product at the end."

Once the consistent success begins, it's going to a be a freight train with little to stop it. Cheeeeeoooooo! Go cougars!
