I doubt his point was that in general
Jay doesn’t have it in him to say something simple and accurate, but if it was, then yes, you proved him wrong.
But if his point was that he doesn’t have it in him to say something simple and accurate that is complimentary to BYU, like “BYU dominates Florida,” then you strengthened his point.
