Yeah not the whole story. Friend of mine started doing this in salt lake and
Decided to only do this. Quit his job. He has figured out how to drive strategically to bring 6k a month pre-tax income. He does put in over 50 hours a week to get there, but he isn't struggling one bit. A woman I dated started driving three months ago part time. She is working about 25 hours a week and while not as aggressively invested as my other friend, she is still bringing in a bit over 1700 a month.

From what I understand it's all about your ability to get tips. As with any industry where tips are established practice what you do to differentiate yourself makes all the difference. Also both of the individuals I mentioned are both Uber and Lyft drivers, so they are able to maximize their passenger turnover
