I think it depends on how much abuse Zack gets.
If he becomes Utah fan's target of hatred, it might be too much for them.
Otherwise, I agree with you. I know the Coveys haven't switched, per se, but everybody loves their son, so it isn't like they've been abused by BYU fans. Good natured ribbing, sure.
All I am saying is there are enough dirtbag Utah fans out there who can make it personal and nasty if he becomes their target.
