Their offers basically are PWO’s....
What they do is they look at the finances of the kids family and then set tuition based on what they think the family should be able to afford. There is a bottom limit, if I remember correctly a total family income of $40,000 per year, and if it is below that all tuition, books, and fees and paid and there is no cost to the family. Above that and they figure out a cost and your family pays that amount.

That is not our situation so we would be paying for him to play at one of those schools although we have never gone so far as to have them look our income over and give us whatever our cost would be. Admittedly a Yale degree would be fantastic, and if our out of pocket was similar to what we would have to pay if he took BYU’s PWO then we might have pursued it further but based on our income I’m guessing it would be a not insignificant sum. I honestly didn’t feel like I wanted to have Ivy League bean counters crawling up my financial behind just to get their offer. I’d rather he take BYU’s PWO at that point since I know approximately what thatbwould cost me.
