That's the problem. Lack of competition.
Many people only have 1 or 2 choices for an ISP. The cable company or the phone company. Not a competitive marketplace.
Even Google is getting out of the business. Too expensive to lay cable around.

I find it interesting that people draw long term conclusions from short term data. It is not honest or accurate.
