He ran a 10.9 100 as a junior, good for 2nd place in the state meet. He's fast. He's also strong (300 bench, 500 squat).
He has been under-recruited because he went to a small private school. That also explains the 100+ tackles and 17 sacks in just 10 games. He played football for the first time as a junior so he is a bit of a project but he is learning fast.
He's seen interest from Cal and Oregon state, but no offers yet (and now likely won't with the BYU commit). BYU may have really gotten a diamond in the rough with this kid. I was impressed when I interviewed him. He's a hard worker and doesn't take opportunities (like a BYU offer) for granted. I think he'll be a good fit at the Y.
