He can be positive without trying to make Kalani sound like he just missed out on the playoffs. We are one game away from having our second straight losing season. Kalani has not demonstrated the things that make a program successful, we've had off the field issues, coaching issues, in game coaching blunders, back to back 4 and 6 win seasons, etc...
Since when does he have to sell Kalani? He just needs to sell his program and talk about where we need to be. We need to be beating Utah, Boise, USU, not losing to UMass, N. Illinois, etc..We need to be in the hunt for New Years Day. Tell us where we need to be, don't tell us that 4-8 and 6-6 is on the right track and having a lead against our rivals was the highlight of the year. That's embarrassing.
He's trying to sell Kalani, and he shouldn't. Kalani should sell himself with W's. Holmoe needs to be evaluating Kalani not praising him. Holmoe needs to sell the program goals, not Kalani. Recruits and their families are smarter than that. They don't want to hear "4-8 and 6-6 and being on the right track" in the same sentence. 4-8 and 6-6 are unacceptable here. This is BYU not UNM.
