right now. I don't know where they were before, but my guess is they have seen a nice enough bump that it was well worth it to them as a band. Even with a not so great performance they are driving downloads which could lead to future concert goers and most likely they didn't scare away any or a large enough number of current fans with the performance to not see a net gain overall.

Additionally Whatever it Takes in the Top 20 and the 2 albums are #11 and #14 on the top itunes charts.
