We know that ESPN exercised the '19 option. Which means '19 was worth more

to ESPN than what the current deal is. Otherwise, ESPN could have let the original TV contract expire and then offer a new contract at a lesser amount.

The BYU football home games for 2019 include: Utah, USC, Washington, and Boise St. That's a good home schedule, but I believe that the next media contract will be at least the same as the current deal, but likely better. Our upcoming home schedules include:

2020 - Michigan St., Missouri, Houston, Utah St., SDSU

2021 - Utah, Arizona St., Virginia, Boise St., South Florida and Arizona (from new Vegas NFL stadium)

2022 - Arkansas, Baylor, Utah St., Wyoming

2023 - Tennessee, Stanford, Boise St. (and Utah?)

Those are better games on the schedule for the first four years of BYU football home inventory than what we saw back when the original ESPN-indy media was signed.

I also note that all of the above-listed schools had multiple games broadcast on one of the ESPN channels or over-the-air broadcast this year. Michigan St. (a 7-6 team) was on over-the-air broadcast 5 times in 2018, including late-season games against Nebraska (4-8) and Rutgers (1-11). Tennessee (5-7) and Houston (8-5) were each on over-the-air broadcast 4 times this year. South Florida was on over-the-air broadcast twice.
