it takes a special woman to be a step parent.
I'm sure step dads can have it rough too, but my view is from being married to a step-mother for the last 16 years. It's not easy.
Maybe I'm nuts, but I think it's more likely for a biological mother to mark her territory with her children than it is for a biological father to do the same. Aside from everything else, that's a mountain of problems that requires a special person to accept willingly.
