Winter campout circa 1970
Our Troop from the Seattle 1st ward was notorious for leaving too late on a Friday afternoon and having to set up camp in the dark and this was no exception. We went to a church-owned camp just over Snoqualamie Pass (think it's still there). Unfortunately it started to rain as we set up our tents in the deep snow. Someone had the clever idea that we should shovel out trenches just wide enough for the pup tents to sit in. That just meant that the rain and melting snow had a channel to run into and we were all soaked by the middle of the night.

There's a lodge there with a chow hall so we quickly reconvened there, told ghost stories all night and tossed our sleeping bags into the industrial sized dryer. Leaders thought it was a bust, but scouts thought it was great.
