really smart to get - they were amazing HS players and it would have been crazy to pass them up. But otherwise, I'd like to see BYU venture outside its comfort zone a bit.
The problem is just that with every layer outside that zone, recruiting is harder — Utah county kids aren't afraid of BYU; california kids (even good LDS kids) are a little more leery of BYU culture; east coast kids a little more; non-LDS kids a lot more; etc. etc. BYU's weirdness just makes it a tough sell to anyone not already basically committed to it and accustomed to it.
