Mussina's career started to go down when he hit the age of 35 which is pretty
normal. The same can be seen with Rolen.

Reports came out that Manny was on something the whole time.

Guys like Clemens, Bonds, Schilling seemed to find something new at 35.

I would be suspicious of that whole 2000-2001 Mariners team. Martinez saw a jump in numbers during those year, Brett Boone was a poster boy for Roids, MacLemore having his highest OPS year at 36....although most teams were on something during those year. I am an Angels fan and reports are that the bullpen (which they road to the world series in 2002) was a bunch of Roiders......led by journeyman Brendan Donnelly who at the age of 30 found 3-4 mph on his fastball through a life minor league and Independent ball.
