I went to most of those games.
Until the past 2 seasons, LP had athletic QBs that ran A LOT.
From Chase Hansen to Barron Gajkowski to Talmage Gunther to Dakota Hansen, those QBs got most of the run yardage. I don’t know how many of those yards were racked up on QB run plays or pass plays that broke down.
It’s only been the last 2 years or so that LP has used primary running backs. Winning has been the priority and I believe they have been to the semis or finals in 8 of 9 years with their offensive formula.
I’ve heard coaches plan to use him based on his size. If he can gain weight and get to 215 or so, he will play RB. If 190-195 happens, he will play Hifo’s position.
