I see a lot of dudes pack the plates on the leg press and go down about 2-3 inches.

People who can't get a squat rack oe dont want to load their spine.

I do. I’d prefer to squat but I have two herniated discs and having my back spasm

Agreed. I’ve had different Injuries that make it so I can’t squat heavy.

Yeah, injuries can derail it. Bulgarian squats are a fantastic alternative.
