also include ocean to go with the steep mountains, rivers, waterfalls, pastures, etc. The prettiest one was probably Seyðisfjörður.
The Top 10 most spectacular places I've been, in no particular order:
- Torres del Paine in Chile
- Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan, China
- Machu Picchu, Peru
- The Grand Canyon, especially the descent down from the North Rim
- Karola glacier and mountain pass in Tibet
- Ngorongoro crater in Tanzania — the scenery isn't quite as spectacular as the other places on this list, but the incredible and abundant wildlife raises it to the next level
- The summit of Iztaccihuatl volcano in Mexico, looking at the smoking crater of Popocatepetl right next door
- Scuba diving among the Rock Islands of Palau, in Micronesia
- Helicopter ride over Kauai, including the Na Pali Coast, Waimea Canyon and the area with the amazing waterfall deep in the jungle that was in Jurassic Park (not sure what it's called)
- Iguazu Falls, on the border between Argentina & Brazil
