My wife booked a hotel close by the port one mile away.

This was before urber and lyft. It took an hour to get a cab that time of the morning and we spent $45 (two cabs) to travel 2 miles. Arrived at the hotel we spent $150 for just the morning, they slept pass the breakfast another $55 for breakfast when they all woke open. Hotel wanted us out of the hotel by 11am I played the jerk and didn't leave until 1;00.
We could see the ship about an mile away to far to walk with the kids and wife. The hotel was going to charge us $25 per person to travel the one mile total $125 we rented the taxi another $45.

Finally got on the ship did the safety talk.

Then the ship antennas where struck by lighting and knock out the two radios, Jan to call in a tech to fix the radio only could get one to work, need parts to fix the other and they were out of state.

The captain had to apply for waiver to to travel with one radio and fix the second one at the first port.

We left port around 7pm.

The worst first day of a trip ever for me.
