We cruise quite a bit and usually from FLL. And we always fly in a day or two before the cruise to enjoy the location and not have to worry about flight delays.

Usually we will try and stay at the Embassy Suites if we can get a good price, but that’s a toss up. As you’ve noted, FLL hotels are really overpriced. Often we will also stay at a Marriott near the airport or on 17th street. This past week we spent 2 nights for the first time at the Four Points by Sheraton. It’s in a great location and the price was much better than Embassy or the usual Marriott brands.
