Sounds like she found her own space in life.
Summers off, travels at her own will. No car payment. She only needs to support herself. If only we could all live a stress free life like that.
She might not have savings, but with a pension she can find a new career and live a decent life. Build a small 401k.
The only thing i assume she's counting on is becoming the owner of your father's home eventually. If your father has no intention of ever moving, she has housing until he passes away. That could be decades away. Does she help pay for maintenance and taxes?
