I've only had to do it twice. Both were terrible employees but still it's hard.
one of them actually said to me "If I knew I had to come everyday, I would of." This was after I wrote her up like 3 times for missing work and having no PTO. Even when she was there she wasn't doing much.
The other lady I fired would just openly sleep at her desk. The president of the company sitting 20 ft away in his office and she is right outside of it sleeping all the time.
