1) We didn’t actually foul! And the other team did get a shot off. But the point, as with many fouls, would have been to make scoring more difficult. Force the other team to take a worse shot, allow our defense to get set. That is nothing different than most any other situation or foul.
2) Our team hasn’t won many games in the last 3 or 4 years. We know our place in the league. We are the least competitive bunch in the Stake, by far! But we do have more fun when the game is close. But mostly, were just there for the exercise.
3) I’m not complaining about the ref. I am poking a bit of fun since he was the one to approach me. I’m a former official. I get that these refs are amateurs and so I don’t complain to them or about them.
4) He approached me, I gave him my explanation, and he continued to argue with me. Usually it’s the players arguing with the refs, not the other way around!
