Professional musicians who desire to play for a major metropolitan orchestra
Have to audition before a panel of judges. Because favoritism and politics played such a large part in the selection process where judgment calls had to be made, they decided to move to a blind audition process in which the applicant auditioned behind a large screen. No speech or talking was allowed.

BYU has joined the ranks of the world by judging applicants by a number of discriminatory factors, including race, ethnicity, gender, geographic origin, and "uniqueness." It means that many qualified applicants will be rejected for less academically qualified applicants who meet racist, misogynistic criteria.

Solution: a blind application process. Put the application behind a virtual curtain and judge the academic qualifications ONLY.
