the crowd to Alaska skews much more to the more mature and sedate side. make sure you have good wind/rain proof jacket to wear on excursions and while topside where you'll likely be watching for whales or in Glacier Bay.

not that past is a predictor, but the worst weather I experienced on any of my 3 cruises was the first night out of Seattle. it was so bad they cancelled the evening shows and curtailed the dinners. if you're prone to seasickness, I endorse the Scopolamine patch instead of Dramamine pills which made me sleepy. only weird side effect of Scopolamine was it dilates my eyes, so reading is a little blurry.
