Some have agreements with the cruise line to not try to poach passengers from up-charged shore excursions (which they are fulfilling) so I didn’t mention coming on the ship but said I’ll meet them in the dock when the ship comes in.
I don’t have an agreement with the cruise line to pay them more for stuff off the boat 😉

There was a trip from Ketchikan that had a very limited hike just to catch pink salmon for a few hours. Minimal hike from the van to the water on easy terrain. I didn’t really need a guide and had brought my own gear so they didn’t charge me much for the ride.

We also got a float plane in Juneau that took us to a place to catch silvers which are way more fun.

Just call the local shops and services and see what they have and what it requires physically.
